Thanks for the responses.I am probably looking at caching in excess of 100Gb data. The two main reasons I have for caching the data are:1) Performance (not always proxying back to a much slower web application)2) Availability (Apache should be able to serve a very large proportion of the site, when web application is unavailable).I therefore want to get Apache to cache everything (that's not authenticated / personalised), swapping the majority of it out to swap disk, but keeping the popular URLs in memory.Cheers,Paul

No but how much cache do you need? On the heavy load prod servers we were using 1GB mem cache. Most of the caching is done on the client side anyway.
