RE: Disk Cache with multiple virtual hosts

I see thats a lot of cache. I guess if the applications have different document root structure so they dont overlap you shouldnt have problems. I think apache uses some kind of hashing based on the url to create the cache on the disk. Not sure if that is based on the whole URL or the URI only. In the first case then no worries but in case of URI that might be a problem.
Its a good question any way and will need to do some research too.

Thanks for the responses.

I am probably looking at caching in excess of 100Gb data. The two main reasons I have for caching the data are:
1) Performance (not always proxying back to a much slower web application)
2) Availability (Apache should be able to serve a very large proportion of the site, when web application is unavailable).

I therefore want to get Apache to cache everything (that's not authenticated / personalised), swapping the majority of it out to swap disk, but keeping the popular URLs in memory.

Cheers,
Paul

Hello,

I am using a software(HTTP Debugger) to keep an eye on https connection and request stream.
In that i can able to see the login and password.

Refer to attached screenshots.Inline image 1

Are you using the URL for login details and things of that nature?

Https will encrypt the connection, it would encrypt a URL.

Hello

I am using SSL suuport in apache for my application but URL is not encrypted.

Any suggestion how can URL be encrypted so that credential can't be seen.

No but how much cache do you need? On the heavy load prod servers we were using 1GB mem cache. Most of the caching is done on the client side anyway.
