You do not need access via aoe, as the device is the same. For example: /dev/sdc1 is your aoe device (vbladed 114 1 eth0 /dev/sdc1 ) You can access to this block device on the client as /dev/etherd/e114.1 and as /dev/sdc1 on the server. I hope it helps. Anyway, if you have only a server, you can try to use a virtual machine (virtualbox or kvm) to access to the etherd device. All depends on your purpose.
