British Airways are to start services between London City Airport (LCY) an= d New York JFK The first passenger service will depart on 29th September 2009 using a specially configured A318. The A318 is the largest aircraft that can use LCY and will stop at Shannon= en route JFK for a top up on fuel. LCY's runway limits the amount of fuel= the 318 can take-off with. Though the eastbound return service will be non-stop, as the aircraft will= be light enough to land at LCY. There is to be daily service, except Saturday's (LCY is closed on Saturdays) BA001 flight number westbound LCY 12:40 JFK 17:05 BA002 flight number eastbound JFK 18:30 LCY 07:15 (next day) The flight numbers were lasted used by Concorde, though the A318 will be= a bit slower. There are only 32 seats only, all convertible into fully flat beds and a= return ticket is around =A35,800 from what I can make out. Tickets have just gone on sale.
