In May this year, the private owner of the airport, Westralia Airports Corporation, unveiled a billion dollar plan to merge the domestic and international terminals within seven years. Mr Barnett says he is discussed the state of the current domestic terminal with the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and both agree, it is not up to scratch. Mr Barnett says both the Federal and State Governments may contribute towards the project.
