Continental joins others with $25 second checked bag fee 6:07:29 PM ET 4/4/2008 SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Continental Airlines Inc. (CAL) said late Friday it will begin charging a $25 fee for a second checked bag to help offset rising fuel costs beginning May 5. The carrier joins Northwest Airlines Corp. (NWA), UAL Corp.'s (UAUA) United Airlines and U.S. Airways Group Inc. (LCC) who have also said they will begin charging $25 for a second checked bag on May 5.
