Airlines Inc. plans as many as eight flights a day to Newark Liberty Intern=
ational Airport from the startup carrier's Toronto base beginning in early =
2008, challenging Air Canada, Continental Airlines Inc. and United Airlines=
.=0A"We'll take some market share and maybe we'll generate some as well,'' =
Chief Executive Officer Robert Deluce said in an interview Tuesday.=0A=0APo=
rter ordered six Q400 twin-engine turboprops from Bombardier Inc. and expec=
ts delivery of them in late December or early January, he said. The carrier=
 is in the final stages of negotiating financing of less than $148 million =
for the planes, he said.=0A=0AThe airline has secured slots at Newark's air=
port for six to eight aircraft daily, Deluce said. Porter now serves Montre=
al, Ottawa and Halifax, Nova Scotia, and also intends to add Boston, Chicag=
o, Philadelphia and Washington to its network. The carrier is the only one =
to fly from Toronto City Centre Airport, located on an island a mile from t=
he city's downtown.
