AAdvantage Mileage Retention Policy Change

Today, we are announcing a =

AAdvantage Mileage Retention Policy Change=0A=0AToday, we are announcing a =
change to the AAdvantage Mileage Retention Policy.  AAdvantage members must=
 now have mileage earning or redemption activity once every eighteen (18) m=
onths in order to remain active and retain their miles.  Effective December=
 15, 2007, mileage balances will expire from AAdvantage accounts that have =
not had miles earned or redeemed within the previous eighteen (18) months. =
 If the last activity date in a member=A2s account was prior to June 15, 20=
06, all miles subject to expiration will expire on December 15, 2007.  (Pre=
viously our Mileage Retention Policy required that members have activity ev=
ery 36 months.)=0A =0AWe have launched a Mileage Retention Policy marketing=
 page and FAQs on AA.com with all the applicable detail.  To view the marke=

o www.aa.com/aadvantagenews and there is a call out box with a link to the =

ail will be sent beginning today to approximately 9M AAdvantage members.  M=
embers who have had activity within the last 12 months will receive a versi=
on that acknowledges we are aware that they are active members and includes=
 the policy change notice. Members who have not had activity within the las=
t 12 months will receive the policy change noting that this change could af=
fect their account.=0A =0AThe June AAdvantage eSummary will contain a strat=
egically placed notice (below the intro paragraph and above the marketing m=
essages) with a link to the marketing page for full details.  The June AAir=
mail will also contain the notice with the link to the marketing page.=0A =
=0AAdditional communications will continue throughout the summer and fall t=
o emphasize the change in policy and attempt to mitigate customer issues.=
