 The only ultra heavy base left is the SFO MRO.  They have bases at all the hubs, including a largish one at LAX and their training facility at DEN.  N772UA, which just had its engines damaged when firefighters screwed up a cannon salute and fire foam instead of water, is having its engines overhauled at United IAD hangars.

I think the only one left is the big SFO base; I have a couple of  
friends that work there (one transferred there from OAK). There is  
also some work done at LAX.   Much of the work from IND was  
outsourced to TIMCO in Greensboro NC, Macon GA, and Lake City FL.
