The American Airlines A300-600R that shed it tail right after take off from JFK was the one in November of 01. 

I was in Orlando coming home from homecoming that morning and all the people on Critter with me going to NY were freaking out because the airports were all closed and they were trying to figure out how to get home.  Glad they did not over react and shut the DC airports down too.  :)
