The Boeing 717 aircraft landed at the airport in routine fashion shortly
before noon today. But as the pilot began taxiing back to the terminal,
the aircraft's front wheel slipped off the tarmac and got stuck in the
mud, Monroe County spokeswoman Krista Hamburg said.

Rosemary Stefano of Gates was waiting for her daughter and grandson coming
from Baltimore. She said she had talked to her daughter by cell phone
aboard the plane.

"Everybody was laughing about it," Stafano said. "The only important thing
is that they are all safe."

Hamburg said there were no reports of injuries aboard the plane. Buses
were en route to retrieve the passengers. She did not know if the
airport's runways remained open.
