Repeat after me: "American Airlines is over-reacting.  They are trying to cut their nose off to spite their face.  If Southwest can fly to more destinations from DAL then American is going to held its breath until it turns (canyon) blue."

AA is operating 5 flights a day from LGB.  Yet, they admit that it's a lower performing market.  Then why they hell are they operating 5 flights a day?  Try 2 or 3.  LGB is a great airport to fly out of - easy parking, little congestion, etc.  I think the problem is that AA didn't advertise the flight they were flying out of LGB.  They just wanted to make sure JetBlue didn't have the slots.
