15.2.05 AA1274 ORD-LAX N957AN Boeing 737-800

Good morning everyone! I woke up at 6.55 and I took a
shower and then I had breakfast. After that I decided
to check on our flight status and it was on-time and
it was incoming from Miami.  

At 8.15 we left the house and started to drive to the
airport. We sat in some traffic but not too much. We
arrived at O?Hare at 8.47. We parked and as we were
going to the underground walkway, a business lady who
I think was talking on her cellphone tripped over
something, screamed then fell in a puddle of water.
Her butt, purse and her suitcase got wet. After that
whole incident, we made it to the underground tunnel
and then took the elevator down and walked across then
up and we arrived at the Delta Baggage Claim.

I checked in the day before but never printed out my
boarding pass so I freaked out a little bit and I told
my mom that I didn?t do anything but it was ok I was
able to print out another one. 

Our gate today is H11B. We made our way to Security
and it wasn?t bad at all. I think we stood in line for
about 5-10 minutes. We arrived at the gate and they
all went to go get some food while I stayed behind and
watched the stuff. I wandered over to the other side
of the terminal and watched some planes land and soon
we are about to board.

We started boarding at 9.47 and pushback was at 10.20.
Our pilot was Al Hayward and the First Officer was a
woman named Cheryl. I was in seat 16F and my family
was in 15D-F. 2 people from Ohio sat next to me. We
also had screaming children onboard too.  The pilot
said that we?d climb to FL280 with a flying time of 3
hours, 59 minutes. 

We taxied to RW32L by A15, B, M2, M, T, T10, 32L. We
took off at 10.31. The movie shown on today?s flight
is: Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement. We had
some light chop on climb out. 

The weather in LAX was Mostly Cloudy, 51ºF, visibility
10mi and an arrival time of 12.45. The pilot said that
we will have a 85kt headwind. American?s Buy On Board
snacks were offered. I didn?t buy any but my mom did.
I just decided to get pretzels. We climbed during the
flight to a higher level. As we climbed, we had some
turbulence some 2 hours, 20 minutes from touchdown. 

The seatbelt sign was turned on and we climbed again.
After Princess Diaries 2 ended, they showed the next
movie, The Notebook. Soon, we had a great view of the
Rocky Mountains! 

The pilot came on and told us that we had just left
the Durango area and the weather was Broken clouds
with a 7 miles visibility and it was 61ºF and we were
approaching the 4-corners area. Soon we had great
views of the Grand Canyon. 

We started our descent at 12.28 Pacific Time. We had
some light turbulence on descent. On approach, I saw a
Southwest 737 on finals for 8R and I also saw the
Hollywood sign. The gear came down at 12.52 and we
landed at 12.55 on 25L. 

As we were rolling out, I saw the Air China Dreamliner
747 and John Travolta?s jet. It was pretty cool. We
hold short on our way to 46A and we hold short on
taxiway N for a few aircraft waiting to depart. We
taxi to 46A by N, C, C9 and we arrive at 1301.

Today, I would be going home after a wonderful wedding
and the warm weather. I woke up at 6.30 at the Super 8
Motel in San Bernadino. I ate a quick breakfast and
checked my email. 

We left around 7.30 to go pick up a family friend who
was heading home to Melbourne, Australia. We sat in
lots of traffic and eventually got there around 1020.
That?s after we dropped off the rental car and took
the shuttle over. We said goodbye to our family friend
as he was taking United. 

We checked in and went to security. We went to the
shortest line while everyone else was standing in the
long lines. We went to go get food and mom went to get
Burger King for the family while I got a Grande
Caramel Frap. I ate a cheeseburger too. I then saw our
plane arrive a few minutes later. 

Our plane was inbound from Chicago and was soon to
return back to Chicago. Our departure time was changed
from 11.30 to 12.00N. I said to myself ?ok its only 30
minutes no big deal.? 

We boarded at 11.30 and I sit here in 16F waiting for
departure. The pilot comes on and tells us that there
is an ATC Delay and that is because O?Hare can only
handle 88 aircraft an hour. Our wheels-up time is
1251. We would have choppy weather ½ the way and our
pushback time is 12.00N

Our flight time today is 3 hours, 25 minutes, our new
ETA is 18.16 and our cruising altitude was FL370. It
was mostly cloudy outside with a temperature of 20ºF.
We pushed back at 12.15 as there was another aircraft
needing the gate and we taxied to 7L. I saw the Air
Tahiti Nui plane and a China Eastern A346. We sat on
the B taxiway for a while and then the engine?s shut
down. 30 minutes later they were started up and we
taxied to 25R and then the engines shut down again. 

The pilot came on and told us that they would be
switching runways after a few more aircraft were
cleared to land and then departures would start up on
the other side. It started to rain but it wasn?t much.
It was just a passing sprinkle. 

We took off after an American Eagle Saab 340, United
Express, Japan Airlines 747-400, and a LAN 767. We
lifted off at 13.19 with a new ETA of 18.45. We had
some moderate chop and we climbed to FL350. The pilot
said that we?d be arriving at the gate at 19.00. 

Nothing much happened during the flight except some
old lady spilled alcohol and coke on my shoes.
American was passing out there snacks but ran out as
they got to my row. I went to the bathroom and I
noticed that AA only had 29 boxes for a flight of 100+
people. But they had 98 things of pretzels though. 

We had 67 local passengers and 45 connecting
passengers. The pilot came on again and told us that
we would be landing to the west and that we would
start our descent shortly. We started our descent at
18.05. 

There were 4 people traveling to Paris CDG and they
missed their connection. Many passengers were booked
on later flights while some had to go see agents. The
flaps came down at 18.27 and we over flew O?Hare
airport and then turned to O?Hare. The gear came down
at 18.33 and we landed at 6.35 on 22R. 

We exit the runway by the United Gates and taxi all
the way around the airport and over the bridge to the
K gates. We got to K18 at 6.43. While waiting to
de-board, I saw a Royal Jordanian A340, Kuwait Airways
A340, Air India 747 and a Lufthansa 747.

We got our bags at Baggage Claim 6 and we got home at
7.45p
