No, the 720 isn't wider than the 707 - they, along with the 727 and 737 -
all share a common width.

Boeing THOUGHT the 707 couldn't be widen but later found out they were wrong
and they did widen it.

I didn't know the 720 was wider than the 707.  I know both were a little
wider than the KC135.
