New York City owes some landmark buildings to Boss Tweed's Tammany political
gang, treasured even though they cost twice the going rate when they were
built.

I think Atlanta is doing better by honoring Maynard Jackson's memory, even
if some of his friends got on a small time gravy train.  He did a lot more
for the country than Tweed and hundreds of other old time pols.
