In my eyes the A330 is a competitor of some versions of the 777...
Just look at some decision making with airlines... recently it is
more often a game between the A330 and 777 then between the A340 and
777...

In any case my post was meant to discuss the reasons why Boeing loses
out all the time and what they could/should do to be a bit more
competitive.... because it looks like lately there is no competition
left... Airbus simply takes all the big orders leaving Boeing with
the crumbs...

Perhaps the feeling at Boeing is... we prefer to sell 10 planes and
make money on all 10 rather than sell 50 and lose money on 40... but
on the other hand employment in the US would benefit from selling an
additional 500 aircraft... I don't know and that's why I put this
question on this list...
