Is this the 'event' that will start the long-overdue cascade of consolidation/liquidation/rationalization of the US airline industry? The Economist has repeatedly pointed out that it is a very un-competitive environment that nearly half (if you include the likely filing of Delta) of the US airline capacity is operating under a form of protection.
