ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways announced today that it will begin four-times daily nonstop roundtrip service between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Atlanta on Feb. 6, 2005, with an introductory fare of $98* roundtrip. US Airways division MidAtlantic Airways will operate the flights using 72- seat Embraer 170 Regional Jets (RJs). "Given the size of and demand for travel between these two major business centers, nonstop service fits well into our Transformation Plan to leverage our strengths on the East Coast," said Andrew P. The fare does not include a $3.10 federal excise tax, which will be imposed on each flight segment of the itinerary. A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. Seats are limited and may be sold out on some flights or dates, and lower fares may be available in this market. The introductory fare is available on nonstop flights between Reagan National and Atlanta only, and tickets must be purchased by Nov. 8, 2004. Travel on this fare is valid daily between Feb. 6 and May 27, 2005. Tickets purchased through US Airways telephone reservations are $5 higher, and tickets purchased at US Airways airport or city ticket offices are $10 higher. Other conditions apply. After the initial reservation, cancellations or changes are permitted for up to 24 hours; after 24 hours, tickets become nonrefundable. If the entire reservation is canceled on or before the scheduled date of travel, the ticket will retain its value and can be used toward another nonrefundable ticket, less a $100 US Airways administrative fee, up to one year after its original issue date. New travel must originate within one year from date of issue. Any subsequent changes to the exchanged tickets will incur at minimum an additional $100 fee. If the reservation is not canceled on or before the original travel date, the entire ticket will have no further value.
