Great for non-rev's (airline employees traveling space available) JAL was legendary, flying for years SFO-HNL-TYO with no traffic rights from SFO to Hawaii so usually 200 empty seats on that leg and was always filled with airline staff. Qantas also had a similar situation and very popular with pass riders Swissair (and many other European carriers ) flew Chicago ORD / Boston BOS/ ZRH with no local traffic on the ORD BOS v.v. leg. Guarenteed space for employees and filled with UAL and AAL workers who couldnt get seats on their own carriers. The good old days, Dennis
