Alistair, AA is not that bad mate. As far as I am concerned both airlines have a lot they need to change, and that is obvious by their position. The both offer decent international service, with Y being much better on AA because of More Room. Neither one provides LH, SR/LX or BA type service, but both have PTVs on trans atlantic and the same food. One really cool thing about UA is channel 9, but otherwise, they are similar airlines. Baha, who I have great respect for, is a big UA guy, so he is a bit biased, but I know people who feel the same way in the other direction, so don't worry In a message dated 8/27/2004 12:56:03 PM Central Daylight Time, atg3v@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx writes: >>This is a nightmare for a UA 1K with 400,000 miles in last 3 years. >>First of all, United is more innovative, has a much better product and >>better equipment. Next month I'm working in Houston for two months so, just booked AA on GLA (Glasgow)-ORD-IAH, HOU-DFW-LGW-GLA mainly because it was the chance to fly in/out of O'Hare (although the circuitous routing was also a bonus). With ORD being one the world's absolute top airports I would like to have been there at least once. United connecting through Heathrow/Dulles just didn't cut it... although if AA is that bad, I'm having second thoughts...
