Ryanair quarterly profits and passenger numbers up



   (08-03) 08:03 PDT DUBLIN, Ireland (AP) --
   Budget airline Ryanair said Tuesday that quarterly profits rose 29.7
percent thanks to a rise in passenger numbers.
   The Irish carrier said profit after tax for the three months to June 30
was 52.6 million euros ($63.1 million), up from 40.5 million euros in the
same period a year ago.
   Passenger numbers increased 28 percent during the quarter to reach 6.6
million, while revenue rose 23 percent to 302.8 million euros ($363.4
million).
   Shares in Ryanair dipped 2.5 percent to 4.30 euros ($5.16) in trading
Tuesday on the Irish Stock Exchange.
