The announcement followed plans unveiled Monday by JetBlue Airways Corp. to offer similar service. Both carriers will fly one roundtrip a day to Nassau from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. JetBlue launched its first international flights in June, serving Santia= go and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. The New York-based carrier began flying to Puerto Rico in 2002. While JetBlue is predominantly a domestic carrier, the airline's chief executive, David Neeleman, said in an interview that the delivery next year of Embraer's mid-sized E190 jets will give the carrier more flexibility to add flights to destinations such as Bermuda, Canada or Mexico. JetBlue currently operates a fleet of larger Airbus A320s. www.jetblue.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright 2004 AP
