Yeah, we're not talking first class here. If I wanted and could have afforded first class, I would have flown AA/AS.=20 Actually the more I think about it, the more excited I get. I want to see, first-hand, this legendary Southwest service. Hopefully it will be a riot! Only thing I want is to sit with my friend (who's actually the love of my life). The four flights we're on are not that long, so if somehow we get crappy seats, we won't be on the plane that long. The issue being discussed was the so-called "cattle car boarding process", not the other amenties. The plankton, er coach, pax are still boarded by seating area on UA and is it really all that different than Southwest boarding by groups? A line down the jetbridge is a line down the jetbridge, no matter how you cut it. At least at Southwest a guy with a $49 ticket has a chance of boarding first with a choice of any seat on the aircraft if he is first in line in the "A" boarding group, unlike Untied which boards the F & UGS pax first and then by seating area. There are plenty of people on Untied who have booked late, paid an absolute fortune because they bought a "last minute ticket" and they end up with sucky middle seats in between two fatsos with seat pitch no greater and sometimes less than Southwest. On Southwest they have a chance of getting a darn good seat if they play their cards right and get to the airport, or get their boarding pass printed online, at the right time.
