Seems like tons of trouble to just get on the plane with Southwest. I'm
sticking with UAL for seats and a non cattle car type of boarding
process.

Nope. I bought our tickets, so I'm guessing the web thing is out for me.

Are both of you booked on the same reservation (same record locator)? If
so, then you have a multi-passenger.  If you booked and paid separately,
then no.
