David,

Your first line should be amended. You wrote: "Christianity is to be spread
to others outside the church." You should add: "...with their consent."
Without that qualification, your position is dangerous. That is why many on
board wondered if the pilot was dangerously unstable.

Your thinking and that of your like-minded pilot brother is offensive and
intrusive to a great many people. The pilot, and you, seem to be oblivious
to that fact. That particular blindness, in a small segment of
missionary-minded folk, is, to me, one of the great mysteries of life.

When I pay the airline for transportation, the contract does not include
being part of a captive audience for a bible-thumping loose cannon who is
apparently too unstable to understand the inappropriateness of his actions.
I certainly do not give the airline license to submit me to proselytizing.
That is not part of the transportation agreement.

God is not pleased nor well served when His children commit such gross
trespasses and offensive, intrusive transgressions in His name.

At my house, the sign which says "no solicitors" refers not only to
salespeople, but also to missionaries. That might make me an extremist, but
I doubt it. To me, the concept of freedom of religion includes being free
from the religious messages of others in public areas and conveyances, as
well as in the privacy of my humble abode.

Peter
