That is correct Baha.  Once you have precleared U.S. Customs you are
technically in the United States so if you wanted to catch a flight to YVR,
you would have to re-enter Canada by clearing Canada Customs.

Yes, but the only way out of the Transborder finger is through Canadian
customs (as told to me by an AC rep a few years ago when I asked the very
same question).  You would need to re-enter Canada before going into the
Domestic section of the airport.  You would then need to do US Customs at
YVR, obviously. Matthew :)
