The Tempe, Ariz.-based carrier said the new flights will give it 111 dai= ly departures to 48 cities from McCarran International Airport, where it ranks second in flights and passenger volume. Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is the busiest airline at McCarran, with 184 daily departures to 43 destinations. Dion Flannery, an America West vice president, said the increased service came in response to growing customer demand. The airline last month announced it was adding new flights March 1 betwe= en Las Vegas and cities in Texas, Ohio and Canada. America West's 12th daily flight between McCarran and Phoenix will begin April 4.
