Mark, you may be right.  But had an incident happened,
even a smaller one like another shoe bomber like
Richard Reed, and it was found out that the government
knew a potential threat existed and they didn't tell
anyone, it would be the devil to pay.  Acusations
would fly against Washington and we'd never hear the
end of it and rightly so.

Bottom line? Better to be safe than sorry.  Besides,
Washington couldn't say who their sources are because
they could never use them again.
