Narita and Mirabel come to mind as examples of "NIMBY'S" in action - interesting how they have both evolved. Come to think of it, there are a few here in YVR - I think it took about 20 years or so to get the North runway up and running, but it was worth the wait - except for last thursday, when 08L was fogged in and 08R was almost clear - that was "fun" to watch and listen to at the midday rush! I think I counted 23 lined up for dep. at one point... Like EWR on a slow day....except these were BIG. Liam.
