The head of the national carrier, Vagn Soerensen, also announced that Tyrolean Airlines, a smaller airline that also belongs to the Austrian Airlines Group, would be renamed "Austrian Arrows." The third member of the group, Lauda Air, would keep its name, the compa= ny said. The name changes are meant to rejuvenate the group's image as part of a larger effort to become more competitive, the Austria Press Agency reported, citing company officials. The name changes will be accompanied by changes to the airlines' logos -- an attempt to make them appear more dynamic, the company said. By 2005, all 87 of the group's planes will have been changed -- repainted and the interiors redone -- to reflect the changes. The airline earlier this month issued a profit warning for 2003, indicating that it will post a net loss for the full year.
