Re: New Airline Uniforms

SQ has very strict requirements for their flight attendants. They hire
their flight attendants for on renewable contracts. When the flight
attendants reach a certain age (30 I believe) they can transfer to a
different area of the company but they can no longer be a flight =
attendant.

I am sure that Thai and Cathay have similar policies because I have =
never
seen an "old" flight attendant with either of those carriers.

These airlines pride themselves on the sex appeal of their female flight
attendants. SQ still markets their female F/As as the Singapore Girls, =
even
featuring them in calendars. I am sorry but fat old battleaxes just =
aren't
sexy.

...Michael,

Since you brought up the subject, I will open a can of
worms for discussion.....

Question:

What (if any) airlines (I don't think U.S. airlines
can discriminate because of our totally out of control liberalism), =
still
require F/A's to maintain weight requirements. Are age limitations still =
in
effect on any airlines? Last year on CX I did not notice any =
'overweight' or
'over-old' F/A's and I know that Asian Airlines (used to) have a big =
thing
about that.....

Not a fan of Fat/Dumpy gumchewing F/A's like you find
on most U.S. carriers....
