Re: New Airline Uniforms

Bryant:

I don't know of any airlines that "discriminate"
according to those creteria, although one can assume
that the F/A has to be able to maneuver betwen the
aisles, close the bin, help people out the plane in
the event of a water landing/fire, etc.

I was pleased to see an older f/a on my Delta Shuttle
flight last December to NYC (LGA) He was certainly in
his mid to late fifties. He did the job well as far
as I could see. Yet if he was the size of a sumo
wrestler and as tall as a player for the Celtics or
Lakers, someone might say he doesn't meet the height
qualifications. Same with the qualification for a
police officer.

Liberalism...hmmm! Some jobs have creteria, as I
stated. (flight attendant, fireman, air traffic
controller, even!) However, some jobs don't and when
an employer tries to dump the older worker, I'm very
angry. (Like Bob Barker, Price Is Right host)

Am I speaking to your concern?

Mike Burris
(A Massachusetts Democrat, Kennedy Supporter, and
Liberal to a certain extent, but growing a bit more
conservative as I get older!)
