I am sick of hearing of these grandma stories.. According to those people every elderly person decided to get up and take a flight after Sep. 11. Well, you guys are missing an important point. What if that 93 year old woman never got kids? That wouldn't make her a grandma.. And nobody defends the rights of grandpas.. :) BAHA ACUNER - CFI,CFII,MEI www.bahadiracuner.com www.acuwings.com -----Original Message----- From: The Airline List [mailto:AIRLINE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of damiross2@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2003 5:45 PM To: AIRLINE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Good essay For a good essay on the shear stupidity of the so-called security at airports, read pages 118-124 of Gary Aldrich's book "Thunder on the Left." He describes some of the stupidity in the searches - such as a 93-year-old black, wheelchair-bound Grandmother being searched - and forced to stand up! - at LGB. He mentions how his sister-in-law is seperated from her 9 year old son and told repeatedly to look at the guy wanding her instead of her son. Her son, by the way, was inspected by another guard. They shut down the security line because of the kid. He had a tiny GI Joe weapon! How anyone can honestly believe that not profiling is helping airline security really needs to see a psychiatrist as soon as possible! David R
