Presuming you're talking commercial airport runways in the USA that regularly handle scheduled commercial flights, the story for the past few years had been that the..... Longest in the continental USA is/was 13R/31L at New York/JFK 14,752 feet long (see http://www.airnav.com/airport/KJFK) Second longest is/was 7L/25R at Las Vegas/McCarran 14,510 feet long (see http://www.airnav.com/airport/KLAS) Question for those pilots in-the-know out there: Given that DEN's field elevation (5,431 feet) is 3,250 feet higher than that of LAS (2,181 feet), is an additional 1,490 feet of concrete really all that big of a "help" when trying to get a full-and-heavy big-boy airbone on a hot summer afternoon in Denver?
