Mainline Airways refunds less than half of its customers HONOLULU (AP) =97 A company that sold super-cheap airfare between Honolulu= =20 and Los Angeles has refunded payment to less than half its customers. Luke= =20 Thompson, founder of Mainline Airways LLC, informed customers in an e-mail= =20 that 73 of them will have to wait for refunds because legal action against= =20 his company has frozen its bank accounts. But Massachusetts attorney=20 general's office spokeswoman Sarah Nathan said the state's restraining=20 order doesn't prevent Mainline from making refunds. "It only stops him from= =20 using accounts for purposes other than refunds," she said. Thompson, 18, is= =20 a college student who set up the Mainline Airways Web site from his dorm=20 room. A total of 124 people took advantage of flights between Los Angeles=20 and Honolulu for as little as $89. Massachusetts and Hawaii issued court=20 orders earlier this month, preventing Thompson from selling tickets because= =20 he had no aircraft and none of the permits required to get into the airline= =20 business. Thompson, of Yardley, Pa., has said that his company "had every=20 intention of doing this operation." *************************************************** The owner of Roger's Trinbago Site/TnTisland.com Roj (Roger James) escape email mailto:ejames@xxxxxxxxx Trinbago site: www.tntisland.com Carib Brass Ctn site www.tntisland.com/caribbeanbrassconnection/ Steel Expressions www.mts.net/~ejames/se/ Mas Site: www.tntisland.com/tntrecords/mas2003/ Site of the Week: http://www.carib-link.net/naparima/naps.html TnT Webdirectory: http://search.co.tt *********************************************************
