Northwest Announces New Service Between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Northwest
Arkansas Regional Airport
June 16, 2003

ST. PAUL, MINN. -- (June 16, 2003) -- Northwest Airlines announced today
new service between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Northwest Arkansas Regional
Airport, beginning Oct. 26, 2003.
The new twice-daily Minneapolis/St. Paul-XNA service will be operated with
a 50-passenger Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ). The CRJ features a spacious
cabin with comfortable two-by-two leather seating and other cabin amenities
similar to larger jets, such as overhead bins, a galley, lavatory, and an
efficient climate control system to ensure passenger comfort. CRJs at both
XNA and Minneapolis/St. Paul airports will utilize climate controlled
jetbridges for added passenger comfort and convenience throughout the
year. The flights from Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport to
Minneapolis/St. Paul are scheduled to allow for convenient, one-stop
connections to more than 25 destinations that previously required two stops
in addition to the hundreds of other destinations served by Northwest
worldwide. The new service will complement Northwest's existing four daily
jet flights between Memphis and XNA.

"At a time when many airlines are cutting back on service and access to new
markets, it is particularly gratifying when a company invests in added
flights to a regional airport," said U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.).
"I'm pleased that Northwest Airlines will add these flights, which will
provide Northwest Arkansas residents and industry with expanded
opportunities for travel and commerce." "The addition of Northwest service
to Minneapolis is wonderful news for our communities," said U.S. Rep. John
Boozman (R-Ark.). "This direct flight to a major hub gives travelers more
options and is sure to increase emplanements at XNA." "We at Northwest are
pleased to begin offering this nonstop service between Minneapolis/St. Paul
and XNA," said Tom Bach, vice president market planning and Airlink. "It is
our hope that Fayetteville's growing business community will take special
advantage of the convenience and choice available through this new
service." The new CRJ service will be operated by Northwest's Airlink
affiliate, Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. The daily jet flights are open for sale
through www.nwa.com, Northwest Airlines Reservations at 1-800-225-2525 or
through travel agencies.
