A startup called "Mainline Airways" has apparently been advertising and offering reservations on flights between LA and Hawaii for $89 on their web site (www.mainlineairways.com), despite having no planes, no desks, no gate slots, no employees at LAX or HNL, and no FAA certificate. A court in Hawaii put a quick end to that. According to KRON-TV news the CEO claimed the service would be flown by a contractor, but he didn't give any details. http://www.thehawaiichannel.com/travelgetaways/2258503/detail.html http://pacific.bizjournals.com/pacific/stories/2003/06/09/daily9.html -- Michael C.
