Michigan among states pursuing Boeing assembly site DETROIT (AP) =97 Michigan is one of at least a dozen states seeking to land= =20 an assembly site for Boeing Co.'s 250- passenger twin-engine 7E7 jetliner.= =20 Willow Run Airport near Ypsilanti is emerging as the state's top contender,= =20 The Detroit News reported Sunday. A coalition of business, government and=20 labor leaders hopes to persuade the aerospace giant that Michigan is the=20 best place to locate the plant, which would create between 800 and 1,200=20 jobs. The Michigan Economic Development Corp. plans to submit several=20 potential sites to Boeing, although it declined to disclose the localities= =20 it has approached.
