Delta, Song increase service to vacation destinations By RUSSELL GRANTHAM The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Delta Air Lines and its low-fare subsidiary, Song, are launching three routes to take on low-cost upstarts in some traditional vacation markets. To haul weekend golfers between Atlanta and Myrtle Beach, S.C., a popular golf and beach resort, Delta said it is adding an extra daily flight Thursdays through Mondays using a 142-seat MD-88 jet, starting July 3. Delta's regional carrier, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, currently makes six daily flights between the two cities on smaller regional jets. Hooters Air launched service four days a week between Atlanta and Myrtle Beach in March. The airline is owned by Bob Brooks, who runs the Hooters restaurant chain. Song, meanwhile, will begin two daily non-stop flights on Sept. 3 between Los Angeles and Orlando, and two between Los Angeles and Tampa. Delta launched Song in April to take of discount carriers such as Orlando-based AirTran Airways and JetBlue in New York. AirTran launched non-stop flights Wednesday between Atlanta and Los Angeles, and JetBlue started daily flights from Long Beach to Atlanta and Ft. Lauderdale in May. *************************************************** The owner of Roger's Trinbago Site/TnTisland.com Roj (Roger James) escape email mailto:ejames@xxxxxxxxx Trinbago site: www.tntisland.com Carib Brass Ctn site www.tntisland.com/caribbeanbrassconnection/ Steel Expressions www.mts.net/~ejames/se/ Mas Site: www.tntisland.com/tntrecords/mas2003/ Site of the Week: http://www.natalielaughlin.com/ TnT Webdirectory: http://search.co.tt *********************************************************
