Airports may be served (commercially) by small aircraft but quite often they
are capable of handling larger aircraft.  Molokai (Hawaii) has a runway a
little over 4000 feet long (at least when I lived in Hawaii) yet it
regularly flights by Aloha 737's and Hawaiian DC-9's.   DC-9's and 727's
require less than 5,000 feet.
