US Airways says it won't move headquarters PHILADELPHIA (AP) =97 US Airways won't move its headquarters from Virginia= to=20 Pennsylvania, the airline's new board chairman said. With US Airways=20 seeking public funding to improve its Pittsburgh and Philadelphia=20 operations, Gov. Ed Rendell last week said he would ask the airline to move= =20 its headquarters from Arlington, Va., to Pennsylvania, where nearly half=20 its work force is based. David Bronner, who was elected board chairman=20 April 4, said Monday the airline has no plans to relocate. "Plus, because the management team is so new, you don't want to disrupt=20 them from focusing on surviving (financially)," he said. US Airways wants=20 $235 million in government aid to cover rent costs and facilities and=20 runway improvements at Philadelphia International Airport, plus $155=20 million in cost savings from Pittsburgh's airport, where it wants to base=20 its new regional jet carrier, Mid-Atlantic Airways. US Airways has its=20 largest hub in Charlotte, N.C. Bronner is chief executive officer of the=20 Retirement Systems of Alabama, which holds a majority of US Airways' board= =20 seats.
