Delta Air Lines cuts guidance, cites war concern = = = = Monday March 10, 5:50 PM EST = ATLANTA, March 10 (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL), the No. 3 U.S. = airline, on Monday cut its cash flow and capacity projections for this qu= arter, saying war fears are convincing some travelers not to fly. The Atlanta-based company said it expects to post negative cash flow from= operations this quarter, after having in January projected "slightly pos= itive" cash flow. It also said it now expects overall capacity to fall 1.= 5 percent year-over-year for the quarter, after in January projecting a 0= =2E5 percent to 1 percent rise. "Current geopolitical uncertainties have weakened the already depressed r= evenue environment more than initially expected," said Chief Financial Of= ficer M. Michele Burns in a press statement. "Bookings for the quarter ar= e down and we expect this to continue." Delta said that it has also entered into more oil price hedging contracts= to help insulate itself from rising oil prices. The company said that as= of March 7 it has hedged 77 percent of expected aircraft fuel requiremen= ts this quarter at an average 79 cents per gallon, and 78 percent of its = second quarter requiprements at 76 cents per gallon.
