Ex-pilot caught with bogus ID Express 02.18.03 A WORLD AIRWAYS Carnival charter flight to Trinidad, scheduled to leave JFK Airport, New York, last Saturday at 6 p.m., was forced to be cancelled after it was discovered there was an ex-pilot on board with a "bogus ID". The former Continental Airlines pilot, dressed in pilot uniform and said to be a Trinidadian, reportedly tried to get on the plane but his identification card was not recognised by the electronic system. He was arrested and taken away. During the fracas, passengers spent four hours on the plane. Eventually, the plane was given the all-clear but then the flight attendants said their time shift was over. Passengers were given food vouchers and, where available, were set up in nearby hotels. Some passengers had to go to hotels as far away as near La Guardia Airport. The World Airways flight, re-scheduled to leave JFK at 9.15 (New York time) Sunday night, eventually winged off at 12.45 a.m. yesterday, after having been further delayed for de-icing and off-loading of the luggage of those no longer travelling. The flight eventually arrived in Trinidad at 6.05 a.m. yesterday. *************************************************** The owner of Roger's Trinbago Site/TnTisland.com Roj (Roger James) escape email mailto:ejames@escape.ca Trinbago site: www.tntisland.com Carib Brass Ctn site www.tntisland.com/caribbeanbrassconnection/ Steel Expressions www.mts.net/~ejames/se/ Site of the Week: http://www.trotters.net TnT Webdirectory: http://search.co.tt *********************************************************
