Hmm....Dave, I think "Pacific Business News" is printing this some 7 years too late. Air Kiribati has been around since 1995, and took over from Air Tungaru (anyone remember their 727?). I think what the article means is that Air Kiribati is now ready to start services with the ATR72, which sat at the airport in Tarawa whilst certification problems were being sorted. The routes this aircraft will be flying are: Tarawa (Kiribati)-Majuro (Marshall Islands)-Tarawa-Funafuti (Tuvalu)-Nadi (Fiji) on Tuesdays, and Nadi-Funafuti-Tarawa-Majuro-Tarawa on Thursdays Air Kiribati also has a Harbin Y-12, which it uses for domestic flights within the many islands of the Kiribati nation. Not sure about their CASA 212 though. Here is a bit more detailed info on Air Kiribati and these flights: http://www.pacificislands.cc/pm122002/pinadefault.cfm?pinaid=6629 Dave, as I know you are interested in Pacific aviation, www.pacificislands.cc is basically the best news resource out there, especially when looking for Pacific aviation.
