Air Canada Supports Mediator's Recommendations on CUPE Collective Agreement MONTREAL, Dec. 4 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada said today that it supports Mediator George Adams' recommendations on the outstanding issues relating to finalization of the collective agreement between the airline and the Air Canada Component of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), representing the airline's 8000 flight attendants. "This has been a very difficult round of negotiations set against a challenging environment for the airline industry along with the complexity of integrating two work forces with distinctive histories," said Kevin Howlett, Vice-President, Labour Relations for Air Canada. "In this context, Mr. Adams' recommendations provide a satisfactory outcome and we look forward to a successful ratification of this tentative agreement by the CUPE membership." The tentative agreement is subject to formal ratification by both the airline's flight attendants and the corporation.
