At a time where everybody seems to be cutting and slashing service and routes left and right, I was pleased to see a paid squib in the SF Chronicle that United Express (Air Wisconsin) is inaugurating nonstop service between San Francisco and Aspen CO. One R/T daily, on BAe 146's. Starts 12/13 and runs through sometime in April. United Tours packages with hotel & lift tickets will be available (and I suspect those pax will fill the vast majority of available seats). The flights will operate as UA5670 (eastbound) and UA5671 (eastbound). It's about a 2.5 hour flight. -- Michael C. Berch mcb@postmodern.com
