My additions to the list... America West and Spirit.  It's also amazing
what you can do when you manage to add a Saturday night stay, even with
a major carrier and a less than 7 day advance purchase.  This may be
offset though by additional hotel/car days, though, so don't forget to
look at the big picture.

And another good-to-know... these same airlines with good last-minute
fares also tend to have good one way fares.
