Air Canada reaches three year agreement with Qu=E9bec Government for service= =20 throughout Qu=E9bec MONTREAL, Nov. 13 /CNW/ - Air Canada is pleased to announce an agreement in= =20 principle with the Government of Qu=E9bec for the continued provision of=20 service by Air Canada Jazz throughout its Qu=E9bec network, including the=20 introduction of Qu=E9bec-wide low, flexible, one way Internet-only fares=20 designed to stimulate local travel. The three year agreement ensures Qu=E9bec customers will have access to low,= =20 flexible Internet-only fares for half of the local traffic capacity between= =20 regional communities and both Qu=E9bec and Montr=E9al. The reduced fares,= which=20 represent savings of up to 70 per cent off regular fares and had been=20 currently available on a trial basis in select markets outlined below, will= =20 be extended throughout Qu=E9bec. The fares will be available exclusively on= =20 the Internet at www.aircanada.ca, www.flyjazz.ca, and www.destina.ca. Four= =20 different one way Internet-only fares based on ten, five, three or one day advance booking will be available, all with the flexibility of no Saturday= =20 night stay requirement and most with the opportunity for same-day standby=20 and no change fees. Existing intra-Qu=E9bec Air Canada Jazz low, flexible, one way Internet-only= =20 fares are currently available from Qu=E9bec, Montr=E9al, Bagotville,= Val-d'Or,=20 Rouyn-Noranda, Mont-Joli, Sept Iles and Gasp=E9. The low, flexible, one way,= =20 Internet-exclusive fares will be extended Qu=E9bec-wide to all existing=20 routes served by Air Canada Jazz. A further announcement including route=20 and fare details including the first date tickets are available for=20 purchase will be made shortly. Air Canada Jazz will continue to offer its usual range of fares available=20 toll free through Air Canada Reservations at 1-888-247-2262,=20 www.aircanada.ca, www.flyjazz.ca, www.destina.ca or through travel=20 agencies. Under the agreement the Government of Qu=E9bec has agreed to= =20 purchase approximately $2.5 million in additional tickets annually for=20 travel by Government and Government agencies. In addition, at the Government's request, Air Canada has committed to=20 maintain service between Qu=E9bec and Mont-Joli and between Mont-Joli and=20 Gasp=E9 until February 2003, pending review of a continuation of service=20 between these communities by a smaller regional carrier.
