According to Aviation-Safety.net, the hull loss rate for the 767 is 0.7%.= The hull loss rate for the MD11 is 2.5%. The MD11 has a rate more than= triple the 767. I rest my case. While there may have been more TOTAL 767s lost, there have also been way = more built. And of course, one was lost due to a bungled hijacking, and = two were crashed into buildings on 9/11. Many of the MD11 losses happened on landing. It has a reputation as a be= ar on landing. Of course the most spectacular one was SR111.
