I was on an MD-11 last week. I deliberately choose JFK-ATL-SLC-SEA routing instead of the JFK-SEA non-stop. When I got to the gate at JFK the res. agent mentioned that he put me on the non-stop as he needed seats on the JFK-ATL run. I kindly asked him if he could put me back on the original routing as I wanted to fly Md-11 for the first time (JFK-ATL) and 767-400ER (ATL-SLC). He laughed at me, but he said that he understands how I feel. It's ironic that a week later DL announces that they are getting rid of MD-11s. Glad that I made the three legged tiring trip.
