(Bonaire) Bon Air Exel operational in November. BONAIRE On November 2nd , the Dutch Eagle Express (DEE) will start with interinsular and international flights, under the name of the Bon Air Exel (BAE), which is a joint venture between KLM and the island of Bonaire, the only shareholder of BEE. The colaboration was settled last week in the Netherlands during the visit of Ramoncito Booi. Besides the interinsular flights between Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba and St.Martin, there will also be flights from Bonaire to Caracas, Barcelona (Venezuela) and Miami. KLM requested these destinations, because they want to use Bonaire as the hub for international passengers that will be transported via Bonaire. According to reports, there will be daily flights to Miami. As already known, the DEE was established in Bonaire due to the frustrations caused by Air ALM. At first it was the intention to use American Eagle for the interinsular flights under the name of DEE, but the plan was no longer expedient after September 11th. The Dutch company Air Exel that flies for KLM in the Netherlands showed interest in also flying in the Caribbean region. Apart from the necessity for Bonaire to have its own airlink – DCA is completely directed at the interest of Curacao – the KLM, with interest in Air Exel, saw a fine opportunity to carry out the hub from Bonaire for its own KLM-passengers with other final destination. _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
